Meet Keela! She is a 9-month-old, 8-pound, female, brown and white Chihuahua/Terrier mix. Keela found herself in rescue when her owners had a family dynamic change and could no longer care for her properly. Are you looking for a playful cuddle buddy? Keela loves to play and chew on toys! She is getting better at realizing everything is not a toy, so she will need someone patient as she has been known to run off with socks and other items. She loves the dogs in her foster home and would love another dog to play with. She is full of energy, so she needs a home where she can get some exercise, either indoors or out.
She can be a bit shy when you first meet her. She gets nervous on car rides, but rides quietly in her crate. She shows this nervousness by shaking which is typical for a Chihuahua. While she will ride in a crate in the car, she doesn't like to be crated at home. She has been friendly to everyone she has met, however she has not been around children in her foster home. She loves to cuddle and burrow under blankets. She will sleep all night long under a blanket cuddled beside you.
Since Keela is still a puppy, she is not fully house trained. She is learning quickly, and is even learning about pee pads. She will thrive in a home where someone is home part of the day who can continue to work with her on house training. In the beginning before she is comfortable, if you approach her quickly to pick her up, she may do a bit of submissive pee. She is no longer doing that in her foster home.
